We Want to Hear From You
A Decade in the South
Think back to 2015. Where were you? What were you up to? Most importantly, what was happening here in Southshore?
A lot can change in ten years—heck, that’s enough time to start and finish an entire Netflix series. Out here in Southshore, it feels like we’ve lived through a dozen lifetimes. The growth has been so fast and so dramatic that it’s only when you stop to reflect that you realize just how far we’ve come.
We’ve added dozens of new neighborhoods, a lineup of restaurants with actual indoor seating (fancy, right?), and even a few little league teams to cheer for. Southshore isn’t just a dot on the map anymore; we’re growing up and maturing into a city with real potential. Who knows? One day, Southshore might be as well-known and respected as Tampa Bay itself.
These last ten years have been a whirlwind, but if we keep supporting our local businesses, celebrating each other’s successes, and showing up for the little moments, the next decade could be even better. Together, we’re not just building a city—we’re building a community we can all be proud of. Here's to the journey ahead!
Is Now the Time to Buy
2025 could be your year—maybe. It all depends on who you ask. Some are saying prices are falling, inventory is up, and great deals are just around the corner. Others claim prices are stabilizing, pre-sales are red-hot, and waiting could cost you big.
The truth is, everyone has an opinion, and the numbers can often be spun to support either side. While it’s hard to get a straight answer, one thing remains consistent: you can find a great deal in any market, and you can just as easily get burned, no matter the conditions.
Florida’s housing market, while cooling off from its red-hot streak, is still tricky to navigate. But a slowdown doesn’t automatically mean it’s time to jump in. H&CO recently put together an insightful piece to bring some clarity to this murky topic: Florida Housing Market 2024.
So, if now isn’t the right time to buy, it’s definitely the right time to stay informed. Keep an eye on the market—you never know when the perfect opportunity might come knocking.
Help Make the Circle the Best
As we keep growing and improving, our goal is to bring you the best experience possible. But we can’t do it without your help! What are we missing? What do you want to see? How can we do a better job of delivering the news and events you care about most?
We’re working on a survey to gather your feedback, but for now, we’d love for you to hit reply and let us know how we can serve you better. After all, the squeaky wheel gets…well, our full attention (and maybe some extra grease)!

Foodies Only:
Southshore is home to some hidden gems—authentic, eclectic spots with menus that feel like a well-kept secret. These are the kind of places where the treats are divine, and the crowds haven’t overrun the charm. Honestly, I cherish these little escapes and usually keep them under wraps. Why? Because we’ve all seen it happen—great places getting too popular and losing their magic.
But hey, sharing is caring, right? And if you’re new to the area, what better way to say "welcome to the neighborhood" than by pointing out where to grab a memorable bite? So, here’s a shortlist of the spots I can’t help but keep going back to. Just promise me you’ll keep them special. 😉
Frappe Xscape - This is a new one, but it did not disappoint. I’m pretty sure as the temps rise, this spot’s popularity will too—because nothing beats the Florida swelter quite like an ice-cold frappe. It’s practically air conditioning in a cup!
Olmecca Mexican Food - I’m not ashamed to admit I eat here at least four times a week—minimum. The Al Pastor tacos have claimed a permanent spot in both my heart and stomach. Trust me, don’t sleep on this little gem—it’s worth every bite!
Pita Kebob - Take a trip to the Mediterranean without ever leaving your zip code! This spot serves up some of the best Greek/Mediterranean dishes around, with authentic flavors that’ll transport you—no passport required. Bonus: it’s all the charm of a family-run gem, without the chain restaurant vibe.
El Rodeo Mexican Bar and Grill - This place has been a longtime favorite of the circle—so much so that no matter when I walk in, they know exactly what I’m ordering. THE FAJITAS! You can’t beat the price or the quality, and the flavor? It’s like a mini vacation to Mexico. Don’t miss out!
