It's So Cold Your Tires Are Sleeping
Quick Tip and Riverview It's Time to Speak Up

It’s Cold and Your Tires are Tired

If you hopped in your car this morning and saw a low tire pressure warning, you’re not alone. Florida did its Florida thing and plunged from the 80s into the 40s the last two days, and your tires are still trying to figure out which way to spin.
When the temperature drops, the air molecules inside your tires act just like us. They slow down, bunch together, and suddenly that comfortable 35 PSI looks more like 28. It’s normal, but it’s also a reminder that your car feels the cold snap too.
That’s why it’s a great idea to keep a small tire pump in your vehicle. Sure, Wawa will let you fill up for free, but who wants to brave the 50s or wait in that line that wraps around the pumps? A portable pump saves time, sanity, and that awkward crouch at the air station while everyone else pretends not to stare.
My go-to is THIS. You can order it on Amazon, and it’ll be here before you refresh your browser. (Still not sure how they pull that off.)
So, take this as your friendly neighborhood reminder: check your tires, top them off, and maybe throw on a jacket while you’re at it. The cold may not be here to stay, but you never know when you’ll wake up to a Florida blizzard.

Planning Together

Riverview residents, it’s your turn in the spotlight. Hillsborough County is updating the 20-year-old Riverview Community Plan (created in 2005), and they want your feedback. The plan covers things like protecting community culture, building a town center, upgrading transportation, and boosting the Alafia River area.
A few public meetings were held this past October, and now you can jump in via an easy online survey open through November 21, 2025. Want your voice to count on how new homes, roads, and businesses shape our area? This is it. Hop in, share what matters to you, and let’s make sure Southshore grows in a way that works.
