Want to get your business in The Southshore Circle? Let’s talk!

WELCOME TO THE NEW YEAR!

Welcome to the New Year! It’s The Southshore Circle, where our resolutions last about as long as the leftover holiday cookies—so let’s make this one count!

In Today’s Edition:

  • Tackle 2025 Before it Tackles You

  • The Circus is Coming to Town

  • Looking For A Place to Keep Warm

New Year, New You

There’s nothing worse than trying to get back into the swing of things after a big break. Follow these few tips and start 2025 off on the right foot—because let’s be honest, the left one is still hitting snooze.

1. Set a Simple Morning Routine

Kickstart your day with small wins—like making your bed or finally figuring out how to work that fancy coffee machine you impulse-bought last year. Baby steps, right?

2. Start with One Big Task

Tackle one major task first—preferably not "figuring out what day it is" after the holiday fog. Trust us, crossing off one big thing makes the rest feel way easier.

3. Plan Your Week

Take 15 minutes to plan your week—or at least make it look like you have your life together. Bonus points if your planner has motivational quotes you’ll ignore by Thursday.

4. Reconnect with People

Catching up with coworkers, friends, or that neighbor who still has their Christmas lights up (no judgment) can make the post-holiday return feel less brutal.

5. Take Breaks to Avoid Burnout

Resist the urge to go full speed like you're training for a productivity marathon. Remember, even Netflix asks, "Are you still watching?"—so take a breather.

6. Celebrate Small Wins

Cleared your inbox? Survived a full workday without googling "when’s the next holiday?" Celebrate! Small wins deserve big energy—treat yourself to an extra coffee.

Lions, Tigers, and Bears, Not Quite

We’re not monkeying around—there’s a circus in town! Cirque Italia: Water Circus wraps up its run in Palmetto today, but don’t worry—it’s making waves in Brandon at the end of the month. Tickets are already on sale, so if you missed it down South, do yourself a favor and brave the traffic. Trust us, it’s worth it.

What’s a Water Circus, you ask? Picture Cirque du Soleil meets SeaWorld. This family-friendly spectacle features live music, breathtaking performances, and a jaw-dropping 35,000-gallon water tank as the centerpiece. Expect BMX riders pulling off insane stunts and aerialists defying gravity with every twist and turn.

But the circus won’t be around for long! So, if you’re curious to see what a contortionist, Shamu, and Travis Pastrana could possibly have in common—grab your tickets and catch the show before it moves on to its next destination!

Baby It’s Cold Outside

Southshore is all about the great outdoors—until the temps dip below 70, and then it’s officially hibernation season. Here are some of our favorite indoor activities around the shore to keep you warm until spring makes a comeback:

🎭 Escape the Cold—Literally
Swap freezing for thrilling with an escape room adventure. Check out CheckMate Escape Rooms in Gibsonton for a fun family outing or date night challenge—no frostbite involved.

🎳 The Alley – Fun for Everyone
Bowling, billiards, arcade games—The Alley has it all. Whether you're aiming for a perfect 300 or just there for the nachos, you'll stay toasty while the fun keeps rolling.

🎬 Dinner & a Movie – A Cozy Classic
Nothing beats dinner and a movie when the temps drop. From Circles and Finn’s to Tiki Docks, you sure to find a cozy fire pit nearby. Then, head to AMC or Muvico, cuddle up in a recliner with a blanket, and catch the latest blockbuster.

Who says winter can’t be fun? Stay warm out there!

What’s washing up on the shore this week:

The Rumor Mill:

More confirmed than a rumor, but Apollo Beach is still waiting for the new Aldi and Walmart to be built on US 41.
